On November 8, the Ministry of Justice announced a total of 1781 successful candidates (1403 last year) for the 2023 National Bar Examination. 186 candidates from the Keio University Law School passed the final examination (104 last year), ranking first among Japanese private universities and 2nd* within the country as a whole. The final pass rate (number of successful candidates divided by total number of examinees) was 60.0% (57.5% last year), first among private universities and 3rd out of all Japanese universities.
