Academic Fees for Keio University Undergraduate Faculties

*Students who transferred into the second year of their degree program must have been admitted in or after AY 2010.
Students who transferred into the third year of their degree program must have been admitted in or after AY 2011.

*If you were admitted in or before AY 2008, please contact the Keio University Office of Finance.
(As of April 2023, the name of the Accounting and Finance Office has been changed to the Office of Finance.)


It is requested that payment of academic fees and expenses at Keio University be completed using the bank transfer forms.
In principle, bank transfer forms will be mailed to guarantor's addresses in Japan in mid-April. Note also that, while it is permitted to complete a once-off payment for the Spring and Fall Semesters academic fees and expenses in the April transfer, a bank transfer form for the Fall Semester payment will be mailed in mid-October if you have completed payment for the Spring Semester only.

  • Please note that among the Academic Fees and Expenses, the registration fee, tuition fee, facilities fee, and experiment and practical training fee are subject to change from year to year based on a sliding scale system as stipulated in the University Rules and Regulations. The standard for the rate of increase is based on a sliding rate (the rate of increase of the salary of national government employees as announced in the National Personnel Authority's annual salary recommendations in the previous year, etc.).
  • The admission fee and the Student Health Care Mutual Aid Association registration fee (100 yen), which is included in "Other Fees", are only collected in the first year and are not included in the total academic fees for current students.
  • Annual academic fees and expenses (excluding the admission fee) and "Other Fees" can be split into two installments and paid at the end of April for the Spring Semester and the end of October for the Fall Semester. However, part of the "Other Fees" will be collected as a lump sum in the Spring Semester.
  • "Other Fees" which are collected by the university on behalf of other organizations may be revised during the course of a student's attendance.

*1 As part of the "Other Fees" included for second year students and above in the Faculty of Letters, a "Materials Distribution and Other Course-Related Fees" will be collected for your declared major.
The materials Distribution and Other Course-Related Fees for each major are as follows:
Major in Philosophy / Major in Ethics / Major in Aesthetics and Science of Arts/ Major in Sociology / Major in Psychology / Major in Education / Major in Human Sciences: 2,500 yen. Major in Japanese History / Major in Asian History / Major in Western History / Major in Archaeology and Ethnology: 3,500 yen. Major in Japanese Literature / Major in Chinese Literature / Major in English and American Literature / Major in German Literature / Major in French Literature: 4,000 yen. Major in Library and Information Science: 3,000 yen.
